Amendment 2 is the winner to initiate Missouri into the medical marijuana pack. Amendment 2 beat out two other proposed laws. A Missourian will need a physician’s note to be eligible to receive medical marijuana.
This amendment will add a %4 tax on medical marijuana that would directly help Missouri Veterans. Those who want medical marijuana cards can apply for them as early as June 2019. Those who want to own marijuana dispensaries can apply as early as August 2019.
This is a win for prison abolitionists and those against the war on drugs. Clients will be able to get the help they medically need without breaking the law. This is a great step towards ending mass incarceration in Missouri. The new law will become apart of the Missouri state constitution.
